Hello Expert,

Any idea how i can and if possible add the company name at the top of this report ad any other report that looks like it ?

Hi,

Steps to follow when you need company name in standard BC report

1. Go to Report Layout selection.

2. Search for the Report "G/L register" - 10019

3. Select the record and click Custom Report Layout action.

4. Click on New and check RDLC boolean field and click on Ok.

5. Click on Layout and choose Export layout action to export the layout file

6. Open the Export layout file there will one column name as Company name

Add a text field in report and then Drag and Drop the Company name field and save the file.

7. Then Import the latest update layout file.

8. After Importing the file you need to update the layout of the file. Click on update layout action.

9. Go back to report layout selection page. Go to G/L register report and then selected your update the file layout to be run.

just to be specific the file i export on step 6 is open for me via internet explorer and i can't change anything in that file? any ideas or tips would be great

Hi,

You have to use Microsoft Report Builder app to open the RDL file which you have exported.

Report Builder is a stand-alone app.

You can follow the below link to install the MS Report Builder app.

I just printed this report in BC 19.4 and the company name prints. Are you sure that you have a Company Name in Company Information?

Thank you for the information i already downloaded the report builder i am just wondering why i cant see the data sets or rows definitions ,like its shown in your screenshot

Hi,

As Kim stated the Report contains Company Name field by default.

Just check the name field in Company Information page.

The Company Name should be there in top left side of report.
