CRM 2013 Custom SiteMap SubArea does not show Icon

I have a SiteMap SubArea that points to a URL (instead of a custom entity). I assigned an Icon (18x18 Pixels, .png file as specified in the SDK for the new Navigation tiles) as a Web Resource.

When I navigate to this custom SubArea, the Icon I specified does not display.

I've seen this issue with other ISV's that assign a URL to their SubArea. The Icon doesn't display for them either, so I'm sure this is a bug. I have 7 custom SubAreas in my custom Area tile. Without the icons, it's 7 blank, gray tiles. Hardly appealing of the customer.

Has anyone discovered a work around for this issue?

    I'm experiencing the same. I've already tried different settings. The last thing I've heard, was that this is not supported yet?

    Hi MDODDIO73 ,

    Can you tell:

    1. Which CRM version?

    2. Share the line from sitemap subarea where you are using image and URL

    I don't know if MDODDIO73 is around but i'll share my details if it matters:

    I'm using 2013 On Premises

    <SubArea Id="nav_myCustomArea" Title="Deprecated Test Title" Icon="$webresource:vrp_caseresult16x16" Url="../../CustomPages/default.aspx">

    The button is there and I can open my page but can't get the icon to show. I tried hardcoding an image path as well. Such as "../../_imgs/ico_18_2020.gif"

    Sure, Dynamics CRM 2013 On-Premise, Hosted and On-line. We have a web resource that display a custom web page in a SiteMap Sub-Area. Both the HTML Web Resource and the Icon are referenced the way you would any icon on the SiteMap (Area or Sub-Area), only difference here is that it is not an entity, but a custom HTML page:
