How to open OOTB Email activity screen when clicked on email field on form

Posted on by 150

Hi Every one,

I would like to know if there is any way to open OOTB email activity screen for creating email on click of email field on form. Currently it opens the outlook screen with the email address on the "to", but we are looking at email activity screen and when sent it should trigger an email to respective participants.

Regards,

Tejas

One option is to create an HTML web resource that provides an image or short link text that, when clicked, uses the command Xrm.Utility.openEntityForm to open a new Email form. You can pass parameters to the new email form including the current record's id (GUID), entity type and other details as needed.
