Hi All
I have deployed several plugins as below. As a backup or recovery is there a way to extract the source code from the plugin from the solution? Is syncing the visual studio projects to Github the best alternative?

    Hi there!
Good morning, evening, afternoon :) depending on where you are!
Hope you are well today :)

    - since source code cannot be extracted directly form the deployed solution in D365, it is recommended best practice for backup / recovery is to maintain version of source code using a system like GitHub, DevOps, etc.

    - for information on detailed steps regarding syncing to GitHub, check this link out: git fetch, pull, push, & sync - Visual Studio (Windows) | Microsoft Learn

    hope this helps :)

    Hi Samantha,

For your issue, I recommend using the Assembly Recovery Tool from XrmToolBox. This tool will allow you to extract the assembly binaries (DLL files) from your Dynamics 365 environment.

Once you have the DLL files, you can use JetBrains dotPeek to decompile and analyze the code. While this will help you inspect the contents, please note that it won’t fully reconstruct the original source code with 100% accuracy.

Let me know if you need any help with the process!

If this answer helped you, please consider approving it.
