Dear All,

I want to ask about Sales Order Lines delivery remainder.
If the sales order type is journal, the delivery remainder is passive. Can it be active?
I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

ORder type journal do not create any inventory transactions.

Sales orders of type Journal cannot be delivered, so it follows that you cannot adjust the Deliver remainder quantity. You would need to change the order type to Sales order to unlock normal sales order functionality.

In Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365FO), when the Sales Order Type is set to Journal, the system typically treats it as a non-inventory or informational sales order. This means that:

    • A Journal sales order is not used for shipping products, invoicing, or affecting inventory levels.
    • It's primarily used for planning, simulations, or forecasting purposes.

Given that Journal sales orders are not tied to actual deliveries, sales delivery reminders (which are used to notify users about pending or overdue deliveries) are not active for this type of sales order.

    Key Points:

    • Sales Order Type: Journal does not trigger delivery-related processes.
    • Sales Delivery Reminder is associated with actual sales orders (e.g., "Sales Order" type) that involve inventory movement and deliveries.

If you need delivery reminders, they will only be active for sales orders meant for actual shipment, not for journal or forecast orders.
