So I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to automatically transfer the lines from a Time Sheet to a Job journal and then post.
Currently, I'm stuck using the prepare button, selecting the timeline, and pulling in each line entry than posting.
It would be nice if the approver could approve a timesheet and the lines be transferred to the job journal, then every Tuesday, it runs the post command.
I'm still new to Business Central development, and implementing this would save me time in the long run. I haven't found a solution googling yet, which brings me here.
Currently there is no automated process to pull the Time Sheet lines into the Job Journal. The Prepare option you are using is the closest automation. You could setup a Job Queue or maybe Power Automate to run that process weekly and then Post the Job Journal. You might want some oversight involved, but if you are only pulling Approved Time it should be okay.
If you automate, be cautious that late approved time (prior to the date window) may not get pulled in. So you may want a monthly sweep that picks up entries that may have been approved after the automation timing.
