Warning or Error on Putting Item Into Fixed Location

Is there a way within the mobile application to present an error or warning if we are putting an item in a location that is the fixed location for another item?

Occasionally we have seen staff do non-directed puts into location and if the location is empty we don't have any indication that the location is a fixed location for another item.

I don't think there is a way to configurate a warning.

But what you could to is have the mobile device item with Movement by template.

In the work template you select a specific work class which only has specific location types.

The locations which are used for fixed locations should have a location type assigned which is not available in the work class as Valid put location type.

In this way when they try to put stock on that location, they will get an error about a non valid location type.

    Hope that helps..

The issues only happens on non-directed puts.  We have work confirmations on for directed puts.

Part of my answer was "don't do non-directed puts" but get a list of reason why sometimes they need to do a non-directed put.

    Hi Marc,

My advice would be to configure a work confirmation for the location on the mobile device menu item

If the location is not according the directed location, the user gets an error message.

    Regards,

    Hello Marc,

There may be a creative way of doing this but I can't think of one.

I would suggest putting a visual indicator (location tag of a different colour?) to indicate to worker not to use for non-directed puts.

If you want system to control this, you would need a development.
