Just a quick addition. We cannot change the DB name once created. So changing that, however way, is ruled out.

Changing company name won't affect your SQL reporting unless you have hardcoded your company's name on any of your SQL reports and/or have a condition that checks whether the company name is the name that was present before you update in GP company setup window.

If all your SQL reports refer to "Company Name" field from "Company Setup" SQL table, then you are safe and good to go.

    Hope this helps.

The only reason I can see it failing is if one of the queries looks for a specific value in the company name.

Remember the company name is not the same as the database name.  If you are talking about changing that - then all bets are off.

I was wondering if the queries will be broken because of the name change?

What do you mean exactly by SQL reporting ?

practically speaking, the name of the company is a chabgable field that can be modified from the company setup window without any negative ramifications.

    Your feedback is highly appreciated,
