Giving permission set to user

Hi all,

In D365 financials, I want to assign only sales, items and customer permissions to a user say User B. Consider, I am User A and I have SUPER permission set. But when User A tries to create a new permission set with limited permissions for User B, User A gets error that user A does not have insert permission to permission set and permission table whereas User A has 'super permissions'. Hence user A is not able to create any new permission set or modify any existing permission set to add access to more tables.

How can I solve this ?

RE: Giving permission set to user

Hi all, Has anyone managed to get around this issue? We have very similar request. Give user access to BC but only allow Sales func. Giving 'Basic' gives access to all pages which is not really what we want. Has anyone got a permission set which just allows access, but then we can just add oob permission sets for Sales as mentioned here?

Just to add to this... Dev is aware that this is a big request and is looking at adding functionality to address this in a future release.

There isn't currently a way to modify the permission sets as they are shared across all tenants.  Any changes or new permissions sets that are pushed out will be available for everyone across the product.  If you have a suggestion for a new Permission set I would put it into a new thread with <product suggestion> in the title.

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Thanks.

I set the role center to sales processor and O365 sales activities. But the person still can access purchase orders, finance, etc. if he types in the search bar.

I want to even disable this.

    Please suggest

    Hi Tammy,

You mentioned-"Also, another thing to consider is the Role Center. Based on your description of the tasks that User B will be performing, the best fits for Role Center would be either O365 Sales Activities or Sales Order Processor."

Please explain above line in more detail. How can I assignRole Center O365 sales activities or sales order processor?

    Hi Tammy,

If I give D365 Basic to this user, he will even get access to Purchase orders and finance related information which he should not get.

How can I restrict this ?
