How to expose a web service for consumption

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello everyone, I have created and published a web service for creation of records on CRM 2016.

My problem is how to expose the service so that a mobile app developer can consume it.

I am new to creation of web services so I would be very grateful if someone can put me through on how to achieve this.

    Hi Edwin,

this sounds like a problem with the web serivce. Even thought it's mentioning "entity" there, it's not, really, a CRM-related question. For example:

    stackoverflow.com/.../soap-php-fault-parsing-wsdl-failed-to-load-external-entity

You may find faster/more help if you post the same question in a different forum:)

    Thanks Guido.

I have already published the service on a public server. The mobile app developer is able to view the methods in a web browser but when he tries to consume the service he gets the error below

SOAP-ERROR: Parsing WSDL: Couldn't load from 'http://................./service.svc?wsdl: failed to load external entity "http://.............../service.svc?wsdl"
