Apostrophe in Quick Find search returns no results - can you reproduce?

Version: 9.1.0000.9023, tested on Contact and Account record types

Create a record with an apostrophe in the name (e.g. O'Donnel), search for that in the record type Quick Find box... nothing.  Search for *donnel and it comes back up.  Definitely the apostrophe and I'm not copy-pasting so isn't some different character from font or anything.  Can replicate in Chrome and Edge, but only in UCI (recognises apostrophes as expected in classic UI), and Quick Find (categorized global search all good too).

Can anyone think of a possible fix or is this one to raise case with MS?

Thanks!

    Hi Beck,

This bug has indeed already been identified and a fix is currently being rolled out.
Depending on your region, this *should* be between October 10th and October 26th.

Hi is there any news on this? It's still a problem for us (in UK).

    Thanks

    Hi Henry,

Can you tell us the release it is scheduled for? Like Matt, I also don't see the fix in production. I would like to be able to track the schedule so I can plan and report.

From the latest I can see, a new fix is now supposed to be deployed in January (between the 3rd and the 24th, depending on your location).

    You can use it now

I think this is exactly what you wanted

    Thank you Mehran,

I think it's important to warn that your solution introduces plug-ins registered on the RetrieveMultiple message, and that can lead to performance issues, especially if there is a large amount of data.
We generally recommend to avoid this, as documented here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/developer/data-platform/best-practices/business-logic/limit-registration-plugins-retrieve-retrievemultiple

To improve the search experience, I recommend online customers to rather explore the new search experience: https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/introducing-the-new-search-experience-in-model-driven-power-apps/

    Hi Henry
And thank you for your explanation
This solution is completely optimized for a lot of data because I deal with a lot of data myself, otherwise a lot of searching would not have been an important issue for me!
You can compare the performance of this solution on big data.
It should be noted that in the plugin of this solution, no operation is performed in connection with the database and only the search query is modified and also no other process except search is not included in this plugin at all.

Thank you for your attention and good luck
