Dynamics GP Web Service Installation Fatal Error

Posted on by 25

We have installed Microsoft Great Plains 10.0 on a Windows 2003 32bit Server with SP2 which is backed by another server which has a SQL Server 2005 installed on Windows 2003 64bit with SP2. The Great Plains client is working properly over the network.

All installation has proceeded very smoothly. However when we try to install Great Plains web services after requesting all the information the installation starts but at reaching about 99% on the scroller shown the whole installation rolls back. The installers exits with a Fatal Error message and the service event log shows error

    Moh'd,

Base on your log file , I found following error.

    3)  Property(S): ERR_DOMAIN_REQUIRED = The account you specified is not valid because the SQL Server is on another machine and the account provided is a local account to this machine. Please provide a domain account.

Use valid Domain account with at least Admin rights

    4)  Property(S): WRN_VIRTUAL_DIRECTORY_EXISTS = The web site already contains a "DynamicsGPWebServices" virtual directory, continuing with the installation will change the configuration of this virtual directory.

Re: Re: Dynamics GP Web Service Installation Fatal Error

    Dear Sandip,

Thanks for your reply; I have mentioned that I have already followed "KB973027" and “KB936586” seems to be for uninstall for this I need to install it first. Apart from this I have tried it on standalone environment (Web Services and Database on same machine) and it was successful, I am still not sure what are the privileges required for the user from which we are trying to install Dynamics GP Integration Web Services.

    Thanks regards

Re: Dynamics GP Web Service Installation Fatal Error

    Abid,

It can be anything..  can you follow Microsoft KBs " KB973027" and "KB936586"

It will solve your problem, I faced same problem but mine issue was in Production SQL Server 2000, sa password was blank, we move DB from 2000 to 2005 with good sa password and bingo it work... so you don't know what is that fatal error but sure above KB will solve ur problem.

    Thanks

    Sandip
