Searching Products using the enhanced experience for adding products feature turned on when adding a quote product - search other custom fields

I am struggling a bit with searching for products in the quote product add screen with the Enhanced experience for adding products feature turned on. We want to want to search by a custom field for a product name or ID in the product ..

Yes, I did add these as find columns to the product quick find view. And yes it will work in the product quick find.

Here's the business problem, let’s assume that we have 50,000 products, and the sales group only quotes 1000 of these products as line items on a quote .. They have created sub-category ID numbers to help them quickly reference a finished good part. when they do a quote they want to be able to limit the search by asking for the cross-referenced ID (custom Field).

Right now it searches all products in the search field... I can see an option on the search bar that says ": all " but can get any other options.
