Ran the HITB Reset Tool for a client on GP 2013. The HITB reset tool edit list shows a current balance of 1,337,708.96 and after reset of 1,372,547.94 with a difference of (34,838.98). Also, ran the Historical Stock Status Report and it's value was 1,338,235.52. How can their be such difference (34,312.42) between the reset valuation and the Hist Stock Status? Thanks

The HITB reset tool matches your inventory cost layers (IV10200) with your General Ledger and amend the differences accordingly.
Historical stock status stores the historical transactions (IV30300), which is not touched by the reset tool.
HITB is more reliable o reconcile inventory to GL. I would not recommend considering the historical stock status, HITB is your correct reference.
