Inventory Qty not adjusted after posting MO Reverse Issue transaction

Posted on by 28,021 Super User 2024 Season 1

Hi All,

Yesterday one of our production clerk did a MO Reverse Issue entry in our GP 2010 (as it has been done numerous times in the past) and posted the adjustment to the system. The reports printed to confirm that everything went fine and our controller posted the GL batches too.. The Item Transaction Inquiry shows no transaction for yesterday, but based on the printed reports, I queried by document # and found them with a date tag of 2014-09-30 !?!.. Is that date from the original MO ? For one of the items in the MO we clearly know that the Qty was at 0 before the reverse issue post and it still was on 0 after it was posted, whereas it should have had a Qty = 3 (corresponding to 3 reverse issues at a qty of 1).

What's the best way to correct this ? do we need to do a manual Inventory adjustment ? this is really annoying as we reach toward the year end and have a lot of MO's to issue with stock that we know is physically available, but if the system says there is none, it will cause delays and more inquiries.

I am having the exact same problem.

User did a reverse issue, but the inv transaction to move the items back to inventory shows no activity.

Did anyone find a resolution to this?

    Thank you,

    Will

I ran the check links across the Manufacturing and Inventory, but nothing has been fixed through that... so there doesn't seem to be any alternative to fix this than doing manual adjustments for failed inventory Qty updates after the posting... We seem to have issues as well with some serial numbers tracking not updating properly from time to time after a receiving has been done.

As we're looking to upgrade soon to 2013R2, we do not want to spend to much time on this issue, but will definitely keep a close eye on that in the new version.

I've thought about that too, but can't run that during the day.. I'll have to wait until tonight when nobody is in the system and can run that from the server...

I'll post the outcome here if it fixes the Qty issue.

    Hi,

Have you run the CheckLinks- 3rd Party-Manufacturing Inventory.

    Hi Linda,

Yes, that was my 1st thought.. :-) tried the regular one and the IV Reconcile from the PSTL library.. no effect.

Have you run the Inventory Reconcile Utility?
