Upgrading from On-Premise to Online, how can we keep using the same report SSRS reports and not convert to FetchXML based

Posted on by 30

We are in process of upgrading CRM 2011 On-Premise to D365 Online and have very complex SQL based SSRS Reports which will be tough to convert to FetchXML.

So we are planning to use Data Export Server and replicate the CRM Online data to Azure database and keep the reports on SSRS server and change the datasource to this Azure Data source, but still worried how the Security will be implemented in this case?

Can we create the Filtered Views in the Azure Database and that alone can handle the CRM Security?

please help if there is any way to not convert to FetchXML and still use the existing reports as is in CRM online.

    Hi Deepti,

For If you  want to use D365 online , then you cant run Sql Query reports. You can use Data Export Service or using scribe replicator you can sync data to on premise and run as Sql Report viewer not from CRM.

Hope this helps. Pls mark it as Answered/Verified to close the thread if suggestion resolved your query
