Are their any references or steps to pushing data to CRM Online from a legacy system.
Any help will be appreciated.

In my opinion - the easiest way to do this is using Kingswaysoft's SSIS Toolkit - see www.kingswaysoft.com/.../ssis-integration-toolkit-for-microsoft-dynamics-crm

In a situation where the use of a third party tool or connector is not allowed, are there any other solutions or steps to achieve this?
Please explain why it is not allowed. SSIS with the Kingswaysoft integration toolkit will save you hundreds of hours of learning and development effort and it's so inexpensive.
Alternatively, you'll need to download the CRM SDK (www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx), learn how to use the CRM APIs, learn how to authenticate and build custom authentication tooling for SSIS, then develop your own SSIS packages to migrate the data from your legacy system to CRM.
If my consulting client told me I wasn't allowed to use a third-party tool or connector to migrate data, I would fire the client. Life is too short to work for crazy clients.
