Payroll Tax Tables Needed

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had a download file of the U.S. payroll tax tables.  Since I am on GP 9 we are no longer supported and therefore after we reinstalled GP 9 are unable to import the payroll tax tables file from online.  I am attaching a screenshot of our GP 9 version (see below).

Many thanks in advance.

    Hi Alex,

Are you searching for payroll tax tables file with Table Structure or Just looking for Table Information alone (Table Names)?

    Thanks,

    RE: Payroll Tax Tables Needed

Hi Praveen, I am looking for tables with table structure.  I don't so much need the actual data but I do need the table structure so that I can then just fill in the data myself manually, such as tax rates etc.  But I can't do that right now because when I try to access the section where I can edit tax rates, etc., I get a message saying that the tax table file is not installed.

    Thanks,

    Alex

    Hi Alex,

Do you have different GP Company with Payroll already exists? or you have different SQL Instance ?

I suggest you to have GP Installed a Fresh on new VM, by doing so, you will get Table Structure on new installation.

By having them you can replicate the Table Creation from new such GP Installation Instance to your existing environment.

So, next time when you try to perform your routines, then there will be Payroll Tables.

I faced similar issue and followed above resolution and fixed the bunch of issues.

    Thanks,

    Praveen

    RE: Payroll Tax Tables Needed

Hi Praveen, when I go into the DYNAMICS database I see the necessary tables.  But when I look at the company-specific database I don't see them.  What I did was export the tables I needed from the DYNAMICS database to my company-specific database in SQL.  However, while I can see that in SQL the company-specific database now has the tables, I don't see it in GP itself.  I also checked in Resources to see if the table was listed but I don't see it.

I wonder if I am missing a step in terms of exporting the tables from the DYNAMICS database to the company-specific database?

    Thanks in advance

    RE: Payroll Tax Tables Needed

Hi Praveen, I wanted to provide an update that I resolved this issue.  The way i did it was by creating a csv file which I imported into GP itself.  The csv file was based off the DYNAMICS database payroll tax table so I was able to duplicate it into csv and then import to GP.  For some reason GP didn't even have the tax tables themselves which was the big problem for me.

Many thanks for your assistance with this

You can go to Tools->Maintenance->SQL and drop and create the tax tables. Once the tables are there you can import the tax tables.

Thanks for that Richard, I am relatively new to SQL so your advise has been instrumental.  I will keep that method in mind for sure.

As a follow-up, however, I notice that when I run a sample payroll run to test that all taxes/codes are set up properly, I get an error saying that the FICA/Social Security tax table cannot be found and paychecks cannot be calculated.  I am not sure where I am going wrong but what I did attempt to do was create the FICA codes manually in SQL.  The result I got is as follows (attaching a few images below)

I haven't imported/created any other tables and my question is if there is another table I should be utilizing with FICA?  I believe this is the only table in question (other than the posting accounts) so I am not sure where my issue is.  Below is my current setup for the payroll posting accounts in SQL:

Do you think I could have an issue in either my payroll posting accts or maybe that I have my FICA table set up incorrectly?  Or is there some other table I should be working with perhaps?

Thanks in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide,

    Alex

    RE: Payroll Tax Tables Needed

Ok I figured it out.  When I initially created the tables in SQL I was only creating them with one code at first and thought I could just add the other ones later.  That may be true for some codes but it seems for Fed and FICA codes they have to already be in the table when it's created, they can't just be added later.  So I recreated the tables with the FICA codes in them to begin with and now everything works.
