Understanding the Global AUC Client Cache File AX2012

Hi all,

As part of some work for performance optimization - we're looking to incorporate the AUC Global Cache file for users.

However, while using the AX client causes .auc cache files to generate for my development user (in the appdata/local directory), specifying the global AUC cache file does not cause it to generate.

Is there a way I can generate the global .auc file specifically for the global cache? Is it the same as the first ax_GUI_{guid}.auc generated on a per user basis??

I have reviewed the base documentation http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa569653.aspx
as well as https://community.dynamics.com/ax/f/microsoft-dynamics-ax-forum/169603/how-to-create-the-master-auc-file/419148#419148
and unfortunately neither have come up with a clear answer.

I have specified the -masterauc arg in the command line as well as modified the global client info on the local configuration to no avail.
