FRX FRD question

Yes, I know it is old and they need to move on, but I have a client that has a bunch of old FRD files that use Drilldown viewer and apparently, they go back and review these files often.  We just upgraded them and moved everything to a new server and shut the old one down.  So, now the old FRD file reference the old server with the server path (ie S:\SL\Applications\...) and of course it does not open since we shut down the server.   In all the years working with this, I have never run across this particular issue.  Does anyone know if you can change the file link somehow?   Thinking not, but thought I would throw it out just in case someone has run across this and figured out how to deal with it.   Thanks in advance.

Hi Charlene, the FRx Drilldown Files (XXX.FRD) are actual files that are generally stored in the FRx67\IO_Data directory by default.  But these files can be copied/moved as needed. How are they opening the FRD files - via the Drilldown Viewer program, or are they browsing to the new folder where they are stored.

Also, part of the issue may be that there could be FRX.INI and/or FRxConfig.XML files that could be pointing to the old server location - those would need to be re-pointed to the new server.

Hopefully you also re-pointed the Sysdata location and the location of the Specification Set(s).

    Hi Charlene,

My suggestion would be to make sure the FRx files were not simply copied from ServerA to ServerB, but that the supported process to fully move the environment to a new server was completed. This is available in the KB article below:

    Thanks!
