Yes, SmartConnect can import invoices to GP with an Excel file as your data source. You don't specify which type of invoice (Payables, Receivables or Sales Order Processing) you wish to import but SmartConnect can do any of them. If you go to the eOne site http://www.eonesolutions.com/smartconnect/downloads/#templates, there are templates available to download for any of these.
If you weren't already using SmartConnect (it is a great tool), Integration Manager could also be used to import invoices into GP. Good Luck with your project.

if you are interested we could offer this solution, already we have a product to create Sales orders in GP from Excel or email attachments , this
solution could be extended to invoices. Please let me know.
