Does anyone know a way to change the settings regarding which company Business Portal initially logs into?

Assuming you are using BP 5.1 with SL 2011......
You have to do this at the BP User level. If you have BP Administration rights, go to the top level of the Business Portal site, click Site Actions/Site Settings. Go to the Business Portal Administration section, click on the Users link.
For each BP User, click on the Description tab on the User Properties section, click the Modify button, then assign the Default Company to each user.
To my knowledge, there is no way to make this a global option. It needs to be done for each existing and new BP User.
