How can I lookup Purchased Items from vendors via SQL or other means

I am trying to look up all items we have purchased from five vendors.

I am looking to see all purchased items and their respective item numbers, the quantity purchased and the current cost of the item between August 2010 and August 2011.

I was considering using smartlist builder then exporting and crating pivot tables but am really interestedin learning more SQL.

Would any of the experts be able to show me an example of how this is done? I am still learning with data sets using joins.

Thank you

Mark

    Hi Mark,

You won't get  a direct response here I think, but rather tips where to find your answers. Have a look at the various blogs of the MVP's that are posting here on a regular basis. An excellent starting point is the site msdynamicstips.com. Great collection of posting about every topic. Go into the Category 'Purchase Order Processing' and you may find your script there (or at least a starting point...).

You can do a union of the POP10110 table and the POP30110 table. You will find the vendorid, item number, quantities and cost you were supposed to pay. It would get a little more tricky if you have to look at the actual receipts as they are kept in other tables.
