"Set Personal Options" everything grayed out

Why is it that when a user in CRM 2011 goes to File --> Options, everything is grayed out and they can't change any of the settings.

If I do it from the Admin credentials, everything is available to me.  Is there some kind of security setting around this that I am unaware of? I thought those settings were always available to the user.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,
Dave

Wait...I thought you were referring to the Outlook CRM options.

    I apologize.

What's happening is that the permissions to modify the User Settings have been removed. Find which Security Role this user is assigned to in CRM, Open that Role, Navigate to the Business Management Tab and Make sure that the ability to make changes is checked.

Found the problem.  It was a setting under Security Roles --> Business Management --> User Settings was set to Read only

Checked the system settings, everything in the Outlook tab is set to "Yes".

So what you're saying is that the user has to download and install the CRM for Outlook Connector to get those settings to be editable in the browser even if they don't won't to use the Outlook Connector?

Yes. Within the Settings -> Administration -> System Settings in CRM 2011, Navigate to the "Outlook" tab and make sure all the options are set to 'Yes'. If they are set to 'Yes', then the problem might be that the CRM Add in in Outlook is Offline.
