Permissions error

CRM V9

As an administrator I have created an entity (ENT1) , and created a chart in that entity and a system Dashboard. I then added that chart to the dashboard

I created a security Role  (Role1) that has read access to ENT1

I shared the Dashboard with Fred, but when Fred looks at the dashboard, he doesn't have permissions to see the chart

ENT is viewable under the Sales tab

Trying to understand what permissions Fred needs without just adding security roles until the chart is viewable

    Hi,

Under customization, I created a view and a chart whilst being signed on as system admin. there is nothing fancy in the view or the chart

    Hi,

see if the security role has sufficient privileges on charts and dashboards.

security role –> Core Records tab, modify ‘User Chart/User Dashboard’ access level.- rajeevpentyala.com/.../role-based-dashboards-crm-2013

    Hi ,

How  you have  created the  security role?

It's always best practice to create security copied from System Administrator role or any other working security role to avoid this kind of issue.

    In addition to Sreevalli ,

Make sure,  security role having  privileges on "Saved View" Under "Core Records" tab .

    Hi PeteN,

Since you have created a System Dashboard so there is no need to share it again with any user , by default it will be visible to every user

Could you please check whether user has Read (organisation level) privilege for 'System Chart' & 'View' under Customization tab similar as below image ?

As suggested by Goutam,  for creating a new security role, it is always  best practice to copy one of the existing security role and then make necessary changes.
