NAV/BC: What is the best way to sell and replenish consigned items within a location which are within several levels of assemblies?

We have distributors which have loaned inventory items (lot tracked) which are organized (assembled using assembly orders, Kit-001 and Kit-002). The Kits are then assembled in a tote (assembly order) and sent to distributors whom support customer cases (surgeries). The tote is shipped to the distributor to support the case - in which only a few items are used (1 item per kit). Company receives notification which items and their lot numbers were used - triggers a sales invoice to the hospital where the product was used for the case.

What is the best way to sell and replenish items within a location which are within several levels of assemblies? What is the best way to set minimum inventory levels for each item within each kit level to trigger replenishments?

    Hello,

Thank you for posting on the Forum.

Unfortunately, standard Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and NAV do not support consignment inventory. In the past, partners have customized the application to manage consignment inventory management.  A separate Location Code may be setup for various consignment locations, but the standard Locations setup may not meet all of the requirements for consignment inventory.

For managing planning in BC and NAV, please see the following links for further details:

    Thank you.

    Best Regards,

    Tom

For Consignment, we create Location per consignment customer as a workaround and default it on customer Card. Manually create Sales Invoice to bill the consignee for the total sold units.

    Regards.
