Creating Table/View from SQL query

Hello all!

I am very new to AX and am looking to create a table or view from an SQL statement that I have written. I was told this is possible but can't seem to find any information on it.

Anybody have any insights or done this before?

It's very easy to create a new table in ax and you don't need to execute sql statement.

Hi JHickey,

It does not work this way in AX. In AX you need to create new table or view in AOT and when you will synch, AX will create table\view in SQL database.

You _could_ create new objects in the AX database, but whether you _should_ is a different question.

Anything that is not reflected within the AX AOT are simply not visible (unless you write custom code to retrieve it through ODBC connection, which is horrible idea due to many reasons). Always create everything in the AOT.
