(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 10

Dears,

Hope all are fine. I am using D365 Business Central at 15 branches/countries.

I need to generate the following reports in excel sheets:

1. trial balance (not detailed)
2. all transactions list report
3. budget versus actual
4. expenses by dimension

How can I achieve this using custom reports?

Thanks in advance

Best Regards

    Go with Jet Reports

Chris is bang on. You need Jet Reports for this. Will allow you to make company or database a report parameter.

It is very good with dimension based splits too.

    Hi

Chris and Josh are correct about Jet Report. But sometimes I know companies may not want to invest in Jet Report. Check Jet Basics to see if you can use it.

Other free but more complex options are:

    1) Try Excel and ODATA and see if you can bring all ODATA in one Excel file and design a report ( archerpoint.com/.../ )

    2) Try Power Bi desktop. This is not recommended for such a reports but since it is free then it may work.

In addition, you may want to see if your company is willing to hire developer to design those reports.

Or look into less expensive (with less functions) alternative such as below that you pay per user per month.

    Dears all,

Thank you for all your responses.

Let us say I want to use the native reports or the account schedules (assumingI have Power BI license), will I be able to generate these reports for a single branch/country?

    Thanks

    Regards

    Hi

We have a single branch and we use account schedule for 1,3,4. We used the following guideline to set account schedule for our branch

    www.kerrypeters.com/.../dynamics-365-business-central-account-schedules-101

For Power Bi also you can select the company and that is your branch. You can use Power BI desktop (which is free) then design the report.
