Can Business Rules be used to default a checkbox to 'Yes' based on an option set value on same form?

Posted on by

On our contact form we have a checkbox for "VIP"

This is essentially just a Yes/No field with a checkbox

Also on the form is a "Contact Type" field which is an option set.

I'd like to have the "VIP" field default to Yes (or checked) when the "Contact Type" field equals the value Affluent.  I would only want this on new records created and not the existing ones.

Is this possible via Business Rules?

Yes, you can do this, you need to check for createdOn date, it is is blank means this is a new record, after that you can put condition for the optionset and set field accordingly.

    Hope it will help.

    Thanks.
