Dynamics GP 18.2 & 18.3 - Fixed Assets - Low Value Pool - Reports

Reports >> Fixed Assets >> Low Value Pool Statement

When running the Low Value Pool Reports in 18.2 and 18.3 on completely different environments, receiving an error 'a get/change operation on table 'FA_General_Information_MSTR' failed accessing SQL Data.

Number of results columns doesn't match table definition.

Have tried recreating the Auto Stored Procedure in SQL Maintenance.

One environment was upgraded, the other is the standard TWO Company.

Anyone else able to confirm the errors on their environment.

Mick

Looks like the Fixed Assets Low Value Pool is Fixed in 18.3 January 2020 Service Pack.

    Thanks,

    Terry,

I noticed there are 3 Service Packs released for 18.3, but do not see where the Fixed Assets Low Reports were fixed.

Is this scheduled to be fixed shortly?

    Thanks,

    Mick

Thanks Mick, yes, sorry I forgot it is on Australian install only, I was able to reproduce this based on your steps.  I'm guessing we need to re-build this dictionary against our latest table changes.  I will repost as soon as I know a timeline for a solution, thanks

    Terry,

Low Value Pool is part of the Fixed Assets Enhancements install.

In GP, Tools >> Setup >> Fixed Assets >> Low value Pool >> Low Value Pool Setup >> Activate Low Value Pool

Tools >> Setup >> Fixed Assets >> Low value Pool >> Low Value Pool Setup >> Depreciation Method Setup, just add LVP, Yearly, $10 18.75%, 37.5%

Create a Book Class >> LVP Pool and Class "LTRK", Depreciation Method LVP, 5 years.

Choose Asset 00012 Cool Truck, add the LVP Pool Book, Begin Year Cost $9.99

Reports >> Fixed Assets >> Low Value Pool Statement >> LVP Pool Book, year 2027, any Report Type.

    Hi Mick,
Number of results columns doesn't match table definition.
My take when such error messages are coming up is that sometimes a third party product is involved and/or the underlying module tables weren't updated properly.

Are you saying that this error does also happen on a vanilla Fabrikam company ? did you re-create the company after the upgrade or was it part of the upgrade process ? The FA_General_Information_MSTR is the table FA00100 in the company DB and you could try re-create the table simply in GP under maintenance > SQL . Chose the Company Database from the drop down menu, and the "Fixed Asset" module in the product list. From the list tables, select the "Asset General Information Master" tables (both) and then on the rigth side check the boxes for Drop Table & Create Table. Click on Process button on the top and that should do it.

WARNING: this will destroy any data that was prior in that table, so be careful and take a full backup of the company DB first, just in case. You should also backup into another backup table any data that's inside of this table to INSERT it back once the table has been re-created.

The other option might be the PSTL library which could get you a function to re-create SQL tables without droping the content.. but I'm not sure Fixed Asset is covered by that tool.

Hi Mick, I wonder is that part of an additional product you have install vs core GP code?  I do not seem to have it on my install.  Did this product get upgraded to 18.2/18.3?

    Thanks

    Terry
