I'll have to defer to an SSRS expert on the specifics, but from what I remember you can go into the properties of a field in Report Builder and set it to link to a value, which in your case would be the field in your view that contains the dgpp:// URL.  This turns the field into a hyperlink that should run the drillback URL.

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I got some hint from the view, now how to make hyperlink to open the sales order from SSRS.  If past the drillback URLs, it is opening sales transaction.  good.    But I need when user click on the SOP Number or the report line the transaction should open instead of past the link on browser.  Kindly provide a solution for this issue also.

    Thanks and regards,

    Noushad

There are already many pre-built drillback URLs created for you in a default Dynamics GP instance without the need for an ISV product.  If you look at the Views under a company database you'll see ones that don't follow the normal table naming convention for GP objects (e.g. GL00100 or POP10000).  These views have names like AccountTransactions, Accounts, Customers, glHistoryTransactions.

If you query these views you should see one or more drillback columns included.  So, you can either use these views if they contain the data you want or, if you script out the views themselves you'll see the format we use to generate the data in the drillback column.  They use a combination of hard-coded values and most commonly a SQL function to plug in specific values.  You can use those examples if you want to write your own view to use in your SSRS report.

    Hi Lucas,

Thanks for your reply.  I do not have eOne's smarlist builder module.  Can I make  Drillback in SSRS without eOne's smarlist builder module.

    Noushad,

"SOP Number for Drillback" is a field in the SalesTransactions view in your GP company database.  This column contains the Dynamics GP Protocol (dgpp://) URL that is used for the drillback feature.

I believe that if you have eOne's SmartList Builder module it still includes a Drilldown Builder module for you to create your own drillback URLs.  You could then use SmartList Builder to include that column and create your own view, which you would then use to build you SSRS report.

    Hi Lucas Miller,

Thanks for your replay and help to fix the issue.   Kindly provide what is 'SOP Number for Drillback' in the table or send the view to understand what is the filed name of 'SOP Number for Drillback' and how to add this in view.

    Regards,

    Noushad,

I do not have step-by-step documentation on how to create a SSRS report, but I can tell you that if you want to drill back from a report to the document in a Dynamics GP window you'll want to look at the SQL views we've created in the GP company databases as an example of how those URLs should look.

For example, if you query the SalesTransactions view you'll see that the last several columns contain drillback links for various fields.  If you used this view to drive your SSRS report you could just link on the 'SOP Number for Drillback' field to add this functionality.

Remember that you do need to be logged into the Dynamics GP application and be in the correct company for these drillbacks to work.
