GP 2010 in Terminal Server does not keep default printer settings

Posted on by 435

Hi everyone,

I have a client that is having issues with GP not keeping the printer settings and each time they log into GP 2010 R2, the printer settings are reset to the defaults.  The printer settings are correct on the OS level but they change in GP.  The are using remote desktop services on Windows Server 2008 R2.

The settings it will not keep are:

“It does not use secure print” and “it reverts to printing the banner sheet”

This is a security issue (anyone can happen to see financial reports, cheques to vendors etc) as well as a cost issue (printing the banner sheet each time wastes paper and produces a print cost from Xerox)
Does anyone have any issues?

Since nobody could  help me, I managed to figure this out on my own.

The fix for this was to go into the named printers settings and change the printer settings in there.
