Change Orders in Project Accounting

I am using the Projects module in GP 10.0 and am finding it to be a bear.  I am wanting to use the Change Order part but I have been testing it and can't find how to make changes to existing cost categories, especially IV cost categories.  Does anyone have any history with this?  My partner doesn't seem to know and a couple Microsoft trainings I have been to in the past, no one is using Projects.

RE: Change Orders in Project Accounting

    Hi,

We are using Change Orders in Project Accounting in order to track changes in Baseline/ Forecast budget.

Unfortunately, there is no option to add/ remove quantities or prices via change orders for IV items. Rest of Cost categories where IV Items are not involved, it works very well.

For any query feel free to ask.

    Hey,

For how great GP is, the Project Accounting module has always been a bit of a beast to deal with. Your partner should have a ton of relatively inexpensive add-ons to help fix this problem though...

I recommend looking into Journyx...it has project-by-project accounting integrated with your Dynamics GP module and replaces the Project Accounting mess.
