Unfortunately i cannot see an scripts in the dictionary.

Guess i will have to re-do the whole thing from scratch.

Would have saved me quite a lot of time ..anyways

Thank you everyone for your help in this matter

    Hi Hammad

Make a copy of the chunk file and rename it to .dic instead of .cnk.

    Open it with Dexterity.

Can you see any global scripts?

If yes, then the source code was not stripped and you are in luck.  You can recombine with a clean Dynamics.dic of the same version to recreate a development dictionary.

If no.  Then you can save any added table definitions and forms changes etc. but you will need to write all the scripts again..... unless you can obtain the source from the original developer.

Understood. If this was developed in house and ownership is yours, and the source is now lost then, if the chunk was created with the ‘Remove unused blocks’ option rather than ‘total compression’ it can be un-chunked I believe.I have never done it. But the easiest way to access the developments may be to just explode the chunk and open whatever dictionary has been created by GP, with dex, you could then try exporting whatever developments are there to a dynamics dictionary.

It is an old customization before my time and i only have the chunk to work with. It will be really hectic for me and I will have to start from scratch by looking how the customization functions.

Do you not have the source? And if not, why not? It can be possible, however there may be legal issues surrounding what you are trying to do.
