Field level Security for Message box

Hello,

I was wondering if we could add field level security for Messages boxes that pop up from time to time.

for example one problem we have at the moment is, in SOP entry window it allows a user to enter an inactive part number but pops up a message box that says " This part is inactive, do you still want to use this in a sales order or not?" with two "Yes" "No" options

Now, if the user presses "Yes", GP would allow user to place an order for an inactive part. which is an issue.

what I can think of is if somehow I could disable or make this "Yes" Button invisible using Field level security We wouldn't come across this issue again.

Alternatively, is there any other way of doing this ?

No you could not do field level security for pop up windows .

BTW you need customization to achieve this particular functionality.

Are your 'inactive' parts also marked as 'discontinued'?

no they're just inactive ones

there're separate ones marked discontinued

If you mark them as discontinued I think you can prohibit their use

GP allow using of discontinued items and even not pop-up a message saying this is a discontinued item if "Allow Sale of Discontinued Items" option is marked in the Sales Order Processing Setup Options window.
