Saving a document in a different entity were SharePoint Document is configured

Hello,

I have two custom entities Intake and Profile, the requirement is when users complete their profile they can attach any document that will be saved in the Intake record for that particular record. I have a workflow that will create the intake record when a profile is submitted. I  have configured SP on both entity. How can I route the documents that are being uploaded in the profile form to be saved in the intake record?

I  appreciate the help.

    Hi

    If you want a no code and flexible solution, i would recommend you create Flow to create document location for Profile and Intake.

    CRM only creates document location when the user clicks on Documents tab.

    If the user completed Profile but did not visit the documents tab and when the intake record is created, Profile wont still have the document location created so you will have to create two flows

    Flow 01. When Profile Record, created, flow can trigger and create the document location for the Profile

    Flow 02. When an Intake Record is created, flow can trigger and create a document location pointing to same location as the Profile

    Please have a look at few examples about how you can create folder in SP and document location in CRM

    Thank you @Kokulan. Both articles are very helpful, however I am trying to implement this on premise where I don't have a connectivity to flow.

    Sorry your question tagged as for Online, thats why i suggested flow, for OnPrem you will have to do the following

    01. Create a Custom Workflow Activity - that uses CSOM / REST api to create a folder for the record created and also the document location record in CRM - You can create this as a Generic CWA (taking Record URL as input not Entity Reference)

    02. Create a real-time workflow on Create of Profile and call the CWA to Create Folder and Document Location Record

    03. Create a real-time workflow On Create of Intake and get the path from Document Location record of Parent Profile and create a Document Location Record for intake pointing to the same sharepoint folder path
