Dear Microsoft Support Team,
I am currently working on a workflow configuration in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and would like your assistance regarding an issue we are encountering.
Business Requirement:
We have implemented a workflow approval process for movement journals. The expectation is that once the journal is submitted and approved, its status should be updated accordingly (e.g., Approved/Posted depending on the configuration).
Current Issue:
- After submitting the movement journal, the workflow is triggered as expected.
- The workflow does not return any errors during execution.
- However, even after completing the approval process, the journal remains in Submitted status.
- The status does not change to Approved or proceed to the next step as expected.
Questions / Support Needed:
- What could be the possible reasons for a workflow remaining in Submitted status despite no visible errors?
- Are there any common misconfigurations in workflow setup (e.g., approval step, completion policy, or activation settings) that might cause this behavior?
- How can we debug or trace workflow execution to identify where the process is getting stuck?
- Is there any required configuration or code-related step to ensure the status transitions correctly after approval?
Additional Context:
- Workflow has been activated and assigned correctly.
- Users involved in the approval process have the appropriate roles/permissions.
- No errors are visible in the workflow history or batch job logs.
We would appreciate detailed guidance or troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue.
Thank you for your support.
