How to calculate only materials of COGS

Hi

We are MFG and we are using Average Cost Method. Also, we capture the labor cost in our production.

I heard we cannot us Cost Share Breakdown to breakdown cost of COGS between material/labor (my report generate error when I use for Sale).

I want to calculate only material cost of COGS for specific month. How I can do this

Thanks

I have the same question (0)

    MahGah,

Try the report BOM Cost Share Distribution. I just ran one for an AVG costed item.

    Hi Steven

Yes I posted question about Cost Share report but anything I did (check UOM, BOM UOM, changing date range, etc) I could not resolve the issue.

Then I saw this and I thought since all our parts are "Avg Cost" then I cannot run this report. That is why I am looking for another method.

I copied different report settings and error below.

    Thanks for your help

    MahGah,

Is this the same forum question you asked on another entry? Cost Share Breakdown will produce for any Item that is Prod. Order replenishment and has a Production BOM and Routing (if present). Are you getting an error message? If you are getting the Divide by Zero make sure the Item UOM conversion is accurate for the BOM and Item.

    Please send pic if error.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    @Jason Nicolaou

    Hi Jason

    Thanks.

I receive the error when I run the report and I select the "Print Cost Share" and I select Sales (or inventory).

This is for any time period that I try

All our items are Avg Cost (except non-inventory items).

When I select individual item I receive this error "The report couldn’t be generated, because it was empty. Adjust your filters and try again."

If I do not select any item then I receive this error "Attempted to divide by zero."

    Thanks for your help

It isn't clear to me where you are receiving the error.  Is it when you run the report and you select the "Print Cost Share" and you select Sales?  I think this report will give you what you need if you get it to work.  I would dig into why you an error occurs.  Did you try a product that doesn't use Average Cost?  Did you try running it for Inventory instead of Sales?
