After 5 months of Payroll with GP 10.0, searches in Payroll Transactions Smartlists take forever...(literally), while running the same search as a query directly in SQL Server Manager Studio takes 1-2 seconds, if not instant...
The search criteria is very simple: employee id and check date.
What should we tune up or what could be wrong?

I have the same question (0)We had this issue as well. Our solution is to create a smartlist via smartlist builder that restricts the entries to the current quarter. That way the smartlist is only searching (at most) three months of activity. Employees know to use the original Payroll Transations smartlist if they need to go back to a previous quarter.
