"Where-used" report shows only first line...

Posted on by 391

Hi, we're using Dynamics Ax 2012 R3.

I've got a small question: when I do an "where-used" of an item, only the first BOM that is show also shows the item number, in the upper pane.

The other BOMs are shown, but no item number is shown. When I click on the other BOMs, the lower pane correctly shows this bom.

This screenshot will make it more clear:

What to do about this?

Thanks, Adriaan

Anyone has an idea how to solve this?

I'm guessing part of the problem is that apparently you can have multiple versions of a BOM.

    Thanks

EDIT: Never mind, it seems it's impossible without customisation, as I've read in this thread https://community.dynamics.com/ax/f/33/t/224774

    Too bad! :-(

This feels more like a bug to me?

    Please see screenshot below.

    Personalisation.PNG

The "Item number" (and other fields, such as Name, Active, ...) changes in the first line, depending of which line of the grid I select.

Instead of this I want all the lines to be filled in correctly.

Here is a screenshot of the columns I've added as personalisation.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello Viesturs,

    Thx for the reply.

I tried what you suggested, but this doesn't get me what I want.

If I choose the BOM lines Item version, I get the item I'm doing a where-used of.

If I choose the BOM version Item version, I get the BOM in which the item is used, which is what I want. But this is not filled in for the whole table, only the first line.

The screenshots below should clarify this a bit.

Thanks for your assistance. I can pay for it in Bitcoins :-)

    Hi Adrian,
when you Personalise field try to add it from BOM(itemId) instead of BOMVersion(ItemId).
From selected fields expand BOM lines and add item number field.
    It should fix the issue.
    Regards,
    V

Additional info: I see I had personalized this window to add the "item number field".

In this field I want to see the code of the BOM it's referring to (and preferably I'd add also a field showing the name of this BOM).

    See personalizations below:

    Personalization_2D00_information.PNG

    Personalization_2D00_query.PNG

And thanks for any pointers to the solution.
