Updating Web Service Query

(0) ShareShare

Hi,

I am new to writing extensions. I have written and published some web service queries and now need to add some fields to this query. I tried publishing the update as a next minor change and changed the version number. The status shows as complete, but the fields in the web service haven't been added.

How do I update a query extension? Do I have to delete the old one and update the new one?

I have the same question (0)

You will restart the instance then it will update the query when re-open.

Thank you for your response. How do I do this? Do I need my system admin to do this?

If you have administrator rights then you can also do. otherwise ask to administrator to restart instance after you publish web service..

Here is a quick guide that you can follow to explore how web service works for Dynamics 365 business central. You can stick to this document for future references also.

Hi, when you updated your extension, did you choose "Next Minor version"?
If so, the old version of the extension is still installed in your environment. Only after the system performs a Minor update (for example, 18.3 -> 18.4), your new version of the extension will be automatically installed.

Hi, you only need to select Current Version and upload the app file again. It may be necessary to update the version number, for example,1.2.0.1

But please note that such an operation may affect the next Minor update. I suggest that you can select Next Minor to upload a app file by newer version number, such as 1.2.0.2.
