Save Button Disabled in CRM 2016

Hello,

I'm having an issue with a Quick Entry Form in CRM 2016.  When Prevent Default gets called (because the form failed some custom validation) the save button is disabled and the loading gif is spinning at the top of the form.

I've installed this update:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3203310/update-0-1-for-microsoft-dynamics-crm-2016-service-pack-1

Which mentions this in the area of issues fixed:

  • If preventDefault is called on OnSave in the Quick Create form, the Save button no longer works.

Like I mentioned, I installed this update and it did not fix the issue.  I also have update 2 installed, but I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Any help you can give me would be helpful.

    OK, here comes some screenshots.

So I enter the data in the quick entry form incorrectly, that triggers a validation that I have written in java script.  That validation uses PreventDefault and uses a js alert.  When the user clicks OK on the alert, the loading gif stays on the page:

As you can see the save button is now disabled in the html also:

    And I'm on this version

According to Microsoft, in the link I sent in my initial post this issue was supposed to be fixed in 8.1

You can also look for that in your Settings -> About button on the Navigation Bar, but if it shows in deployment manager then it should have been applied.

Did you check required fields? Screenshot?

You're talking about in the deployment manager, right?  I just checked and it looks like it's been applied.

Can you check if the updated is actually applied on the organization (check the version number)?

Are you able to see what validation is missing in the quick create form.

Is it possibly that you have required fields that are not on the form?

    Hope this helps.
