SUB-BOM in sales order lines

Hi everyone,

I'm having problems whith the Sub-BOM filed from a sales order line. I select a BOM version approved for the article but not active. If I look in the consist of tree form, the system shows the correct BOM, but when I launch the net requirement for the line, the created production order does not have any BOM.

Can I have more than one BOM version approved but not active and use it for the same product?

Thank you!

I have the same question (0)

    Hi RogerPr

    You can have multiple boms approved and choose one in the sales line. So your problem is the planned production order do not have any records in "derivatives requirements" but there are lines in the bom of the item?

    Hi Cristoph,

    So my problem is that, as I do not have any active version of my BOM, when I create a planned production, the system generates a production with an empty bom. I solved this problem marking the BOM version req check in the coverage group (the planned production order use the sub-bom sales line) but then, the net requirements does not use the on hand inventory and this is another problem for us.

    The thing then is, I would like to be able to use approved BOM in  the SUB-BOM sales lines but also we need that the net requirements use the on hand inventory.

    It is possible? Yesterday I was searching and reading in the forum and it seems that we would need an special developement.

    Thanks!

    Hi RogerPr,

    If you do not have a active BOM or route on item level you have to define the "sub-bom" and "subroute" field in the sales line ("product" tab). I have checked it in a standard contoso environment. It works as expected. If no active version is on item and the fields are empty the planned production order will not generate "derived requirements".

    How do you create the planned production order? manually or with MRP? Usually MRP will do what you need.

    @Community Member,
    I got same issue with you, and I solved the issue by tick the parameter "D365 f&o Use the specified BOM or formula version" on coverage group, and also can involve onhand by enable another switch "Prioritize existing supply over required BOM or formula version or route version", FYI
