Can I download media from the library

A coworker uploaded several pictures & videos that are on steps in a Guide (so they are part of our instance library). Is there any way for me to download (export) this content in order to make an adjustment if I don't have another copy of it?

Thanks,

Lara

    Hi,

In order to achieve your goal, you can perform the following two steps:

    1. If you want to preserve the structure of the folder, you can export the folder first, you can refer to this official document:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/mixed-reality/guides/admin-export-import-folders

    1. You need to use the Content Migration Tool to migrate all the content you want, the detailed steps on how to use this tool are in this documentation:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/mixed-reality/guides/migrate

If this helped you, I'd appreciate it if you'd mark this as a Verified Answer, which may in turn help others as well.

    Best Regards,

    Hi Frank,

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, those links are very helpful and I will look into that migration process (a little above my technical expertise so I will get someone to help me test it).

For others, I also found that using the Guides model-driven app gave me the exact tools I needed to download specific media content. I recommend taking a look!

    Best,

Thank you Lara for advocating the model-driven app! Here are some tips for everyone:

    • In case you haven't seen it yet, the model-driven app is a web-based Power App that provides administrative functionality for Guides. For example, you can browse data, create folders to organize guides, etc. Authors and admins can log into the model-driven app via your instance URL.
    • If you don't know your instance URL, go to the Analyze tab in the Guides PC app, copy the URL, and open with your browser.
    • After you log into your instance, select the Guides tile:

    • To download an asset, first look for the applicable view on the left-side menu:

    • Then browse to your desired asset, and look for a link to download. The link appearance differs depending on the type of asset. Examples:

There are many other tools available through the app so check it out and explore!
