I've been advised by our Marketing team that a customer Journey is sending mails out to more address then the total number of address in the Contact , membership list.
The two contact lists have
All Active Clinical & Social Care contacts
Marketing and Comms Staff List
In total there is around 5000??
Where would the additional 30k come from
Hmmm, that is not the case in my situation. I have a dynamic segment with 2.222 members and a customer journey with 2.241 contacts in it. The journey started last thursday and now it is monday, but still the number of members in the segment as well as the number of contacts in the journey stay the same.

I raised a ticket with Microsoft in the end.
They mentioned it may have been that the segment list may have been updated whilst still in Live status???

I have the same experience here. Several times actually, but not so extreme as in your case. Have you already found what caused the difference?

I've checked the segements section and the total is 4,909 and believe this has always been the value, give or take a few but not thousands..

Was the count of members in your dynamic segment recalculated? For example, there were 35k contacts in your All Active Clinical & Social Care contacts segment and you started the customer journey with it.
After the next evaluation of this segments, there is only 5k contacts meet your filter of the dynamic segment. Please check it.
If this is not the case, you would better raise a ticket to consult Microsoft since this is a really weird thing.
