Quick Campaigns - email tracking - open email - links click

Dear all,

comparable questions were asked before but without relevant / correct answers.

- I use Quick Campaigns in Sales - in App Marketing

- I have Email Engagement switched on and while using the approach described in manual (Use email engagement to view message interactions | Microsoft Learn) I can see email open activity.

- However, for Quick Campaigns - Template driven emails, I'm not able to see similar behaviour.

- Is there a way to mimic the personal email ... so I can track email open or links activity ?

- Is there a side way to get better insights into results of such email activities ? ... Campaign responses are working, but these days few people will send email back.

- I could guess a simple email specific GIF counter could be setup and a simple KPI could be achived ... even at 1 mailing level ( number of people opened email, number of people using a link ?)

I do understand that elevated scenario would utilize the D365 Marketing, but my organization  is at starting line, not mature for the full Marketing suite & related costs.

Thank you, Daniel.

    Hello Daniel,

One way to track email open activity for Quick Campaigns is to include a unique tracking pixel in the email template. A tracking pixel is a small, transparent image that is included in the email. When the email is opened, the image is loaded from a server and this is recorded as an open. This is similar to the approach used in most email marketing software.

Another way to track email open activity is to include a unique link in the email template and track the clicks on that link. This approach can also track which links were clicked, and how many times they were clicked.

In terms of insights into the results of email activities, you could try creating a simple KPI, such as the number of people who opened the email or the number of people who clicked on a link.

Alternatively, you could try using a third-party email marketing software that integrates with Dynamics 365 Sales, such as MailChimp, Pardot, or Marketo. These software allow you to track email open and link activity, as well as other metrics such as click-through rate and conversion rate.

Please note that the above solutions are general guidelines and the exact implementation may vary depending on your specific Dynamics 365 version and customization tools available.

It's also worth noting that Dynamics 365 Marketing is a more advanced solution compared to quick campaign, it offers more advanced functionalities such as email and lead scoring, lead nurturing, segmentation, and marketing automation.

Interested to resolve the same issue. Small organization, using Quick Campaigns, similarly the personal email via the engagement is working well, but template driven Quick Campaigns not - despite you can locate the particular piece of code in the template. Any practical - how to make it - advice ?

    Thanks, Daniel.
