CRM Online - User - Reassign Records

Anybody find that the bulk reassign feature is taking too long?
And the "Reassigning records..." dialog is not helpful to show the progress?

 

Even for a user that I know does not have many records will take >10min and this dialog is still there.

 

I know I can manually re-assign each module via Advanced Find but this very inefficient.

    Are you facing this Performance issue in CRM Online or CRM On premise org ?

    If CRM Online : is this happening anytime or there is a specific time in a day you are facing this issue?

    If CRM On premise : How many records you are trying to assign using this Bulk re-assign job. Is this only happening when you are doing this using the Bulk re-assign? id this happening for one user only ?

    Hi Mohammad,

    This is CRM online.

    I tried in different timings.. different browsers (IE10, Chrome)..

    It takes a long time (even for user whom I know has minimal records eg. less than 50). The dialog just freeze there. Clicking the background made the dialog "disappear" (or just hidden?). But somehow this don't feels right.

    Would have been better if there is a progress bar instead?

    Hi,

    I also tried to use the "Reassign Records" feature on Online with just 2 records. Although the records are reassigned with in a second (using Advance Find), but "Reassigning records...." popup/message was there for very long time (might be an issue).

    I think you can use "Assign" option, if possible.

    Hi William,

    Just create a simple workflow (on demand ) entities and assign the records to Person B if they are owned by Person A. Simple.

    PS: In this way you could track the records in future as well for which the workflows executed whereas the reassign records would meet the end result but without any future references.(unless audit is enabled.)

    Thanks for your reply. However, I think creating workflow is just as bad as doing it manually via AdvFind.

    I do hope the User>Bulk Reassign feature can deliver what it was meant to be.

    while conducting my bulk re-assignments these few days, suddenly now the pop up dialog above does not show. instead, the following error keep popping up at regular interval during the re-assignment.

    I know the re-assignment is working because I am using AdvancedFind and could see the records getting re-assigned.

    I just tried and the behaviour is the same.

    I have completed the reassignment for my org and basically this is my observation..

    Scenario is to assign data from userA to userB.

    After pressing reassign,

     1. if userA has data to reassign:

       a. there will be no dialog pop up

       b. (via AdvancedFind) we know data are being reassigned

       c. for each completion of 1 entity reassignment, the user form will pop up "An error has occurred." (see 2nd screenshot above)

       d. after all data has been reassigned, there may or may not be another pop up "Reassigning Records..." (see 1st screenshot above).

     2. if userA has no data to reassign

       a. the pop up "Reassigning Records..." will appear immediately

       b. this pop up will stay on browser indefinitely

    We also are having this these types of performance issues with our assign of records.

    We primarily assign our Opportunities.....   opportunities have many 'children'  multiple entities types with multiple instances of each....

    We get the same results as William described above.
