Can you explain why some Batch numbers have a posted cost while others do not? If issued to PD the items that do not obviously do not bring in a cost to the BOM as well.

When going under inventory transactions for one the item.

Theory:

Manufacturing PD’s are not ‘Ended’ which posts the cost in AX before items are further transacted against. If you look at the transactions for a BOM item it appears that if the financial date is prior to any further transactions costs post accordingly. If there is not financial date or the date is after the additional transactions then there are no cost posting.
After posting I tried to get this and recreate it works some time and some time it not.

It all depends on your setup. You should do physical posting which is based on your estimates. Then the financial posting will be done at production end, but you do have an estimated cost and the variance is smaller.

If you estimate production orders with a cost of 0 because that is what your cost of raw materials are, then you are in the same predicament....

This should all be cleared up at inventory closing. What happens to your adjusted cost when closing?
