Hiding Queue Items From Users

Hi,

We are trying to implement a strict security policy across business units.  However the Queue Item Entity can be selected from advanced find, and show all items in all queues, even personal queues.

When opening an item the privaledges kick in and deny the user from reading the actual underlying entity.

The problem is that at the title of the entity can give a lot away, for example the e-mail subject line would be visible.

Are we missing something here?  This seems like a major hole otherwise.

    Hi Peter

Yes you are correct this is a issue with CRM 3.0 and CRM 4.0, assuming you are working with v4, you can now through plugins interact with the on-load sequence of the default pages, but this takes some pretty heavy coding as there is no defined finction such as on-load the queue page.

with advanced find that is a little more difficult so maybe you could remove the title or topic field from the advanced find view.

Please let me know if you do find a really good solution, as we have a similar issue

Hi Alistair, In the end we used Javascript to hack searching out of the advanced find for Queue Items. horrible horrible hack. But it had to be done. If you find something better let me know. Cheers
