Hi, I have created a security role long back and we are using that role. In the security configuration form security role its showing the license type as "Activity" but in the License usage summary form its showing as "Supply chain management". Please can anyone help me how to find where is the issue.

Hi Yasar,

The old license calculation had issues and is deprecated for a new PPAC object-based calculation. In some cases, the old calculation provided incorrect results. It can be now due to:

Too access to features which is requiring the SCM license.

Wrong permissions on privileges. This can be standard or custom privileges.

Wrongly tagged items as base for the PPAC calculation. E.g. aprroval purchase agreements has an issue today. This should be Activity according to the licensing guide, but is now SCM.

To find out what is the culprit, you need to analyse the role. I have created several blogs to help you identifying the objects involved and reducing access. You need to find the objects that are now not entitled for this role for the Operations - Activity license and then check what to do next.

Dear Mr. Andre,

Hi Sir, Thanks for your reply. I really appreciate your efforts.

I gone through the blogs you have written its really very helpful. But still, I could not able to make the license type as Activity.

We are in big trouble. We have around 200 sales man and we can't purchase full license for all sales man so we need to make that as activity license.

* I checked all view privileges and removed update and deleted access.
* Problem I am facing is I could not able to find which privilege is making problem.
* I want sales man role to do sales operation except invoicing. I know invoicing requires finance license.

There is issue in the license usage summary form. I have checked the menuitems under supply chain license. Same menuitems is showing under activity license also. I am confused what menuitems to remove to make role as Activity. Below is the images.

Please help us to make the role as Activity one.

Hi Yasar,

Starting from your second screenshot, where you selected the Operations - Activity license, can you filter on the elements (20) that are not entitled and share the list, please? That gives the indication which elements are not within this license. With help of the last link, you can find the related duties and privileges for your custom/configured role.

You can also share the list with the objects, but then we still don't know what duties or privileges you might have used as some objects are included in more than one privilege. Also, it can be the case that you have custom privileges. At least with help of the list, I can verify for possible bugs in the license calculation.

PS @CA Neeraj Kumar, there is no option to open View permissions from the License Usage Summary page.

Hi Yasar,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, this is not the information I'm looking for. Starting from the License Usage Summary page, select the tab Role licenses.

Then filter your role on the column Role name. Select the line in the upper grid for the SKU Operations - Activity. In the lower grid, you will then see all related securable objects. Filter the records where the field Not entitled has a checkbox in this field. Or sort this column descending to get all not entitled objects next to each other. I would like to receive the list of the 20 that are not entitled.

The information you sent, can be used after the list of the 20 to find out if there is a bug or misconfiguration in the security role.

Hi Yasar,

Based on the file you provided, I created a role last night with all of the privileges and duties listed. Today, the calculation is refreshed and the role is calculated as Operations - Activity in my environment. This is updated with the latest available 10.0.45 environment and updates. You can try to update your environment with the latest available quality update or review if customizations may cause your issue.

If you still can share the list with 20 not entitled objects, I can compare the settings from your Excel sheet with my environment
